Chicago house legend Larry Heard has released an album under his Mr. Fingers moniker for the first time in 25 years. Described by DJ Mag as ‘a glorious return’, ‘Cerebral Hemispheres’ is out on all major platforms via the artist’s own label, Alleviated Records, and is divided loosely into two halves across its 18 tracks. A jazz-tinged opening half of the record which includes vocal performances from Heard as well as welcoming a host of musicians to contribute, gives way to a more dance floor oriented second half. The album has already received positive reviews from a number of publications including the Guardian who described Heard as ‘imbuing machine-made music with humanity’.
